Private Individualized Occupational Therapy

The Rainbow Tree Advantage

🌿 Family-Centered, Nature-Based Care

At Rainbow Tree Therapies, we deeply value partnership with families and believe that the most meaningful progress happens when children are supported in natural, familiar environments—whether that's our outdoor therapy spaces, your home, or our nature-inspired playground.

We work closely with caregivers throughout the entire therapeutic process. When appropriate, we may invite you into sessions to participate directly, ensuring your voice is heard and your insights guide the work we do together. Your involvement is not just welcomed—it’s essential.

Because we understand that family dynamics play a powerful role in a child's development, our approach often includes a broader look at the family system. We offer support not only for the child but for the family as a whole, recognizing that growth and healing are interconnected.

Rainbow Tree offers an intimate, nurturing setting enriched by access to natural landscapes and animal interactions, creating a calm, sensory-rich environment where children can explore, regulate, and grow.

We believe that nature is not just a backdrop—it’s a co-therapist. 🌳

šŸ’² Investment in Your Child's Growth

Our therapy fees reflect not only direct one-on-one time, but also the behind-the-scenes planning, evaluation, and evidence-based intervention tailored to your child’s unique needs. We’re committed to continual learning and professional development—so you can trust that your child is receiving high-quality, research-supported care.

🌿 Why Nature-Based Therapy?

Therapy at Rainbow Tree happens primarily outdoors in our natural therapy spaces, with indoor sessions used only when necessary to support your child’s success.

We believe:

  • Nature reduces stress

  • Outdoor play ignites curiosity and motivation

  • Natural environments support self-driven growth and regulation

This approach nurtures the whole child—emotionally, physically, and developmentally.

šŸ‘ØšŸ‘©šŸ‘§šŸ‘¦ Family Involvement is Essential

You, the caregiver, are a key part of your child’s success. We work closely with you to ensure progress carries over into your home and daily routines. Your engagement and consistency in implementing strategies between sessions are vital to creating long-term change.

While we strive to serve a wide range of children, our outdoor-based private therapy model may not be appropriate for:

  • Children with complex medical needs

  • Those with significant mobility challenges that limit outdoor access

  • Children who are a flight risk, where safety would be a concern in an open environment

  • Those who need a highly structured, controlled indoor setting

  • Children with a severe fear or overwhelming discomfort being outdoors

šŸ’” If we’re not the right fit, we’re happy to help connect you with other trusted providers who may better suit your child’s needs.

Let us support your child’s journey from roots to resilience.
We can’t wait to walk this path with you. 🌈🌳

PACKAGES

    Testimonial

"We sought out private therapy for our son at Rainbow Tree after years of sleep issues and challenges with emotional regulation that no longer seemed developmentally appropriate. Prior to our time at Rainbow Tree, it took our son an hour or more to fall asleep every night. He would have frequent meltdowns and seemed uncomfortable and anxious in his own body. Lisa is incredible. Our son immediately felt safe and seen at Rainbow Tree. The tools and resources Lisa has provided us are invaluable. We feel much more equipped to support our son through any challenges. After just a few weeks of the Safe and Sound Protocol, our son is beginning to feel safe enough to voice and work through his big feelings for the first time! He looks forward to his sessions with Lisa and truly feels at home on the grounds at Rainbow Tree. The natural playground is any child’s paradise and showcases the team’s ingenuity and dedication. We are so grateful for all Rainbow Tree has done for our family."

    🌟 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We understand that beginning occupational therapy services can bring up lots of questions. Here are some answers to help guide your journey with Rainbow Tree Therapies.

    1. 🧩 Are there support options other than private therapy?

Yes! In addition to one-on-one therapy, we offer:

    • Therapeutic Nature Camps (group-based support)

    • Caregiver Coaching Calls to help problem-solve and support home routines
(An evaluation may be recommended before coaching to ensure guidance is personalized and safe.)

    • The Resource Den - an online resource. Ā This is a good choice if you want to dig a little deeper on what you can do at home right now but don't have time or financial resources for individualized therapy.Ā
    • Intensive supports - Safe and Sound Listening Protocol and Bodywork (3-5 session packages) See above.Ā

    2. šŸ“… How many sessions will my child need?

Each child is unique. Therapy recommendations are based on:

    • Evaluation results

    • Functional goals

    • Ongoing clinical observations

We typically recommend a minimum of 10 sessions to see meaningful progress. Many families find that packages including caregiver involvement lead to the most sustainable outcomes. Most families complete at least 2 packages for best results.

    Therapy may pause when:

    • Goals are met

    • A family requests a break

    • A different service is more appropriate

We view breaks as a healthy opportunity to see if skills generalize into daily routines.

    3. ā„ļø What happens during winter or severe weather?

Therapy continues year-round, even in winter! We encourage children to dress for the weather, as outdoor play in snow offers wonderful sensory input and movement opportunities.

If conditions are dangerously cold or unsafe:

    • We have access to a heated indoor therapy space

    • Some sessions may be adjusted or rescheduled

    • Fewer sessions may be available during December and January

    4. šŸ”„ What is your cancellation policy?

    • More than 24 hours’ notice: We’ll do our best to reschedule.

    • Same-day cancellation: Session is forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.

    • Therapist cancellation: You’ll receive a full refund or credit toward a future session.

    • Weather-related school closures: We’ll attempt to reschedule, but no refunds are given.

We understand that life happens—consistent communication helps us best support your child.

    5. šŸ’³ What are your payment options?

    • All sessions are paid up front, typically in blocks of 4 or more sessions

    • Many families use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to cover therapy

    • Upon request, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance
(Please note: reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by plan)

Superbills are provided after sessions are completed and paid in full.

    6. šŸ§‘āš•ļø Who will be working with my child?

Rainbow Tree Therapies is staffed by licensed occupational therapists with a deep commitment to child-centered, nature-based care.

    Current providers:

    • Lisa Haverly, MA, OTR/L – Founder & Occupational Therapist

    • Bridget Kaari, MS, OTR/L – Occupational Therapist

As we grow, your child may work with additional team members, but all are licensed and trained in Rainbow Tree’s therapeutic model.

    7. šŸ• What if we can't complete all sessions in our package timeframe?

Each session package includes a built-in 2-week buffer period. This means:

    • You have up to 12 weeks to complete a 10-session package

    • This buffer helps accommodate weather cancellations, illness, or therapist conflicts

Please note: Same-day cancellations or missed sessions are forfeited and not eligible for rescheduling.

    8. šŸ“† When do sessions get scheduled?

Once payment is received, we’ll work with you to schedule your sessions. We do our best to accommodate your preferred times, but availability is based on the therapist’s current schedule.
