Power of Connection with Peers & Nature

Let's gather children together and get their bodies moving and grooving outdoors in nature! 

OBJECTIVES:

• Learn about & participate in animal care (donkeys, sheep, and chickens)
• Using the Theory of Loose Parts , children will be provided with loose parts to spark imagination to build, create, and tinker.
• Using an understanding of neurobiology & through social emotional books or activities, children be invited to explore mindsets and exercises to support well-being in mind and body.
• Building resilience through the seasons which may include survival skills like building a fire to stay warm.
• Unstructured play with peers on our natural playground.

This will be powerful work and so much fun!   

Guided by professionals.  What does that mean?  It means we have a background in child development as Occupational Therapists.  We understand activities that support development of physical skills and mental well-being. We bring background knowledge on mental health. The activities are carefully guided while also allowing enough freedom to gain a sense of agency and confidence. There is research to show that multi-age groups of children provided a powerful to establish roles of leaders while cultivating inclusion and caring. We bring thoughtful questioning and experiences that cultivate real life skills.

Ages: 4-10 years (we are exploring the evidence based multi-age play group)

Time:  12:30-2:00  

Start Date:  Thursday February 6, 2025   This will be 10 sessions total!  Stay tuned for more details. 

We will need 3 children to make this a go!

There are no makeup sessions for group format.  Inclement weather policies apply.  If there is no school in the area either due to hazardous road conditions or poor weather, this social group will also be canceled. If your child is sick, there is no reimbursement.  If staff is sick or ill and session cancellation is required, reimbursement will be provided.
